Youth Inclusion Officer (teaching support)
Youth Dream is a charity that manages The Bridge Youth Support Centre in Selsey. We are seeking an officer that can teach maths and English to GCSE level to work on a one to one basis with one or two students at a time. We are a small charity offering support to children and young people in Selsey in the areas of education and mental health. We have children who, for a variety of reasons are not attending mainstream school. The short-term aim is to give them the confidence and motivation to re-engage in learning, with the long-term aim to re-integrate them back into a school community. Core subjects are maths and English but you will need to think outside the box and use volunteers to supplement their learning with activities that interest them from woodwork to hair and beauty. This post requires patience and understanding of the young person, with a key piece of the job to create relationships with these dis-engaged young people.
Salary: £15.00 per hour plus paid annual leave, with the potential to increase hours with demand and funding. Immediate start available.
Hours: 22 hours per week term time (38 / 52 weeks), paid pro rata monthly
